Developing Business Models: At Puig in Hamburg

The company Puig had taken the occasion of its 110th anniversary to open new locations worldwide. The one in Hamburg was recently visited by ISM students.

Participants from the bachelor’s program in Global Brand & Fashion Management and the master’s program in Luxury Fashion & Sales Management had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at Puig. The focus was on the aspect: How does the traditional company live its business model and how is it further developed.

The excursion started with an inspiring lecture on this topic by Marketing Director Maria V?lkl. It became clear: The company has been focusing on sustainability for a long time. This includes ambitious climate goals that Puig aims to achieve by 2030. Maria V?lkl shared the vision, mission and positioning of Puig, which reminded the students of many concepts from their studies.

"It was exciting to see how what we learn in theory is implemented by real companies in a way that also brings additional successes," commented Prof. Dr. Christiane Beyerhaus, who had organized the excursion.

After the company presentation, the brands Jean Paul GAULTIER, Rabanne, and BYREDO were introduced.

The trip with students from the ISM Hamburg campus concluded with a joint meal and a thank you to Puig’s Vice President Markus Grefer and HR Director Philipp Woitscheck for this "impressive experience," as Christiane Beyerhaus emphasized.
