    How long does it take to become a data scientist?

    Studying data science is a good idea if you have no background in computer systems or data systems. Entry-level data science positions are often expected to know data base SQL, data visualization tools, and statistical computing You can complete your Data Science Bachelor's full-time in 6 semesters and earn 180 ECTS credit points. Also, you can complete the Data Science Master's in 3 to 4 semesters (with 90 respectively 120 ECTS), depending whether or not you wish to also take a semester abroad and expand your international experience.

    Also, during the data science undergraduate degree, you have the opportunity to complete an additional seventh semester abroad if you pick the?"Global Track". This option is elective and you will graduate with 210 ECTS credit points. For more information, contact the study advisors.


    Entry requirements for data science studies

    Application documents

    At ISM, we perform first a fast check of your qualification for a data science degree program in Germany. This as well as the application are completely free of charge. Please submit the following per email to the study advisor at your preferred campus:

    • School-leaving certificate or Bachelor's degree (if already available)
    • Transcript of records (translated in English)
    • Curriculum vitae (CV)
    • A certificate of English language, for example TOEFL, IELTS 6.0 or other international one (compulsory for Master, not obligatory for Bachelor)
    • Copy of your passport or national ID card

    Upon examination and successful verification of your documents, you will be able to register for an online admission test.
